Helpline Volunteers provide confidential and identity-affirming emotional support and resource referrals, taking 3.5-hour shifts weekly between Fridays-Mondays, 1.00PM-7.00PM. Applicants for the Fall Training Class must be available on Saturdays 12.30-5.30PM from Sept. 26, 2020 to Dec. 19, 2020 for the 48-hour peer counselor training. Applicants will go through two interview rounds, the second involving roleplays. All Helpline Volunteers must be at least 18 years old before starting to take shifts. Project Facilitators provide guidance, facilitation, coordination, and support for the SQSH Team that you oversee, making sure Team members stay on track with goals and responsibilities. The Logistics Coordinator crowdsources and obtains quotes for logistics that SQSH needs to function, including technological equipment, office items, stationery, and food orders. The Logistics Coordinator responds to other SQSH members' logistical requests and works with the Treasurer to field them in a timely manner.

The IT Support volunteer helps fulfill SQSH's IT needs, including keeping the phone systems up and running, maintaining our phone equipment, keeping our data and technologies secure, and troubleshooting IT issues that come up during shifts.

The Map Designer uses GIS to help SQSH design accessible, appealing virtual maps to display LGBTQIA+ affirming resources and places in St. Louis. Works with the SQSHBook Team to select resources for display. Prior experience with using GIS is preferred.

The Web Developers helps to develop and maintain SQSH’s internal and external sites, including our public-facing website (built on Webflow) and internal volunteer portals. Prior web developer or web designer experience is preferred.

SQSHBook Editors work with the SQSHBook Coordinator to organize the SQSHBook resource spreadsheet, fact-check resource information to keep the SQSHBook updated, and incorporate community feedback and input into the database.

Interns and practicum students are intimately involved in SQSH's day-to-day functioning, get valuable experience working with the St. Louis LGBTQIA+ community, and learn more about the growing field of peer support. You will be given agency to customize your own projects and provide input to improve SQSH as an organization. You will be paired with a task supervisor and a mentor/field instructor who will check in with you weekly/biweekly, facilitate reflection and growth, and answer any questions you may have about SQSH.
